Busy week

Listening to: 세븐 [라라라]

Ahh i am so tired~~

ㅠ0ㅠ

Hmm just had a super duper busy week (and i survived!) cos of work + tesol + tuition all jumbled together.

Oh but these few days had been pretty interesting. Heh. Shall write a pretty lengthy entry..

30/11/07 Fri -

Me and huiye had our exam for the foundation course. I was late by 10-15mins cos of work but luckily i still managed to finish the 40 mcqs in 45mins. Ehh considering the 80 mcqs in life science modules i think it was still manageable. Ha im a good erm 'scanner' cos eh i din finish studying the whole manual actually. Hee. After that we had our practicum and it was fun! Ok im biased but both of us think ours was the most interesting cos we gathered the most laughter. Lol.

There were 4 groups and the first one was by Angela n Karen who is from Germany (i think) and theirs was okay. Cos they taught about articles 'a', 'an' etc so erm quite mundane? Hah ok paiseh. I mean as in cos theirs was the only group who taught english so it was not as funny.

The second one was by Bona 아줌마 and Young-eun (unless i remember her name wrongly) and yeah obviously they taught 인사말 (greetings) in korean. Ahhh piece of cake~~ xDDD. And bona 아줌마 got huiye n me to go up to try the conversation and the rest of the class were like how come my pronunciation is so good. Lol. They should try listening to me when i speak other stuff besides greetings. Kiwon 오빠's reaction is living proof i sound weird. HA. As for young-eun, she's far too singaporean-like to me that sometimes i have difficulties recalling that she is actually a korean who has lived here since she was young. =p So she can speak english, chinese n korean. Ok that makes her the 3rd korean i have seen besides my 2 students who can do that. That is like SO cool.

*envious*

Ok then the third presentation was by us and we taught numbers in chinese. Ha luckily most of the class understood chinese (the malays could understand some of it so it was just bona 아줌마 and karen who couldnt catch) and we got the class to play bingo and whacko! Ha the whacko was the fun part cos we were like shouting numbers so randomly and all the funny pronunciations of numbers came out and got everyone laughing in stitches. Heh. ^__^

The final one was by Ros (she said students called her Ms Ros in school), Nash n Maya and they taught numbers too, this time in malay. Erm everyone was quiet cos we were trying very hard to comprehend what was being said. Oh and Ros even had the [Winter sonata] song sang in Malay! Ha sounds not bad..

After the practicum, it was FOOD time! Actually, the school had already promised to order Canadian pizza for us as a treat for finishing the foundation course but before it came, Bona아줌마 suddenly whipped out like 2 whole bags full of plastic boxes with kimbap and anchovies soup for us! Heh nice~ 고마워요!

I just adore kimbap.. 김밥짱! ㅎㅎ~

At night, I went for kyuchan's tuition. Think i have not seen him for a week. And the 'annoying' fella put a ball on the door so when i opened it, the ball would fall on my head. Lol. But well he's too cute to make me angry. Ha. Oh then i had him listen to a chinese song which we had used for the practicum earlier and we started discussing about 成语 cos he dug out this comic book which has those in korean. Den he played a MC Mong's song to let me hear on his Mac. Dun ask me how the topic about the song came about. Hah. I was pleasantly surprised at the end when his mum offered me pizza, orange juice and grapes cos i had not eaten dinner. So we sat there and talked for a while, of cos with constant interruptions by the dearie who kept saying '我很聪明' in the background. And kyuhyun made me laugh when he said 'Mom, can we dun go to korea, I want to stay in singapore..' ROFL.

'Kyuhyun ah, can i exchange with you then..' (My own OS when he said that)

Hahaa.

1/12/07 Sat -

Today marked exactly 2 weeks since i started work at Readingtown. I was pretty apprehensive in the morning cos theres a ger who comes on sat and i dun really like to teach her cos she's super reluctant to do work and last week i could tell she was quite buay song when i told her to do it properly in a pissed off tone. Luckily, she went Wild wild wet with her family and din come. Ha. So i had 2 bois to kick off the morning and well one of them is really cute too. He just keeps saying 'againnn?' when i give him work to do in class. I cant really recall his name.. i think it was youngjun or something. N its not pronounced as 'yong' like in youngsaeng's name but as 'young'. Strange.

The second lesson i had taesung, jessica and erm this other ger. The gers i had seen before but taesung was new to me and he is one boi who just loves to use singlish. Eh a cute korean boi who speaks singlish.. that is like totally ruining the image. Lol. N he loves to talk too. Halfway through the lesson he suddenly started speaking korean to me n he was like pointing to his paper and said '이거 보잖아요..' Den i was like 'No, i cant see it.' N after that they were very amused i could understand.

In fact i have been receiving alot of amazed looks ever since i started when it occurred to students that i could understand some of what they were saying. Ha i finally found out why yesterday cos apparently none of the teachers there knew korean. Well, at most just abit of vocabulary here and there so they were equally amazed when 원장님 told them over dinner that i knew. Heh. I must work harder so that i can communicate more effectively in korean!

Then i can chat with kyuchan's mum too. Cos she just prefers to talk to me in korean..xD

Oh the last 2 bois i had for the day was the highlight cos both of them are in level 4 i.e their english is already quite good so not much problem conversing at all BUT i could really sense the friction between them as the class went on. One of them was the principal's son (jiwoong) and he's studying in a local school while the other one was from singapore american school and according to him (yoon soo) he's filthy rich. N guess what? He lives in four seasons condo in town. WOAH.

But the catch was that it was almost like watching the debate between united world college n local schools that time on TV cos the jokes yoon soo told were really americanised. So jiwoong couldnt really catch most of it so it felt like he was on the 'losing end' so i had to refrain yoon soo from being too overboard with his words. But yoon soo just couldnt stop taunting him. Aish.

Hmm but strangely, i prefer yoon soo to jiwoong cos the latter is quite spoilt actually and i could tell he din really respect me maybe cos well, he's the principal's son afterall. Whereas for yoon soo he still knew where he stood when he talked to me. So i spent the 1.5 hrs listening to all kinds of vulgar language by 2 kids whose total age barely added up to mine.

[-__________-]""

My final conclusion is that people from SAS are damn confident of themselves.

But give me kyuchan, anyday.

I cant like a kid much if they cant even bother to show some basic respect and courtesy to the teacher. Period.

The day ended with a teachers' meeting cum dinner treat by the principal at a cafe called Green.On.Earth in beauty world. Erm healthy organic food is just so NOT for me.

Yup the end of my most interesting days in the past week. ^.^

Ahh still so many assignments to finish and i wanna watch [못 말리는 결혼] so much!! My jaejin.. he's such a charming bassist. ㅋㅋ

Surprisingly im pretty addicted to [Lovers]. I like lee seo jin's character (not his person) cos its like he has not only a gungho n gentle side to him, but also a silly one and it was really sweet when he said '우리 들이 있잖아요..' Later it was ulper touching when he asked why the ger pushed him away when he was trying so hard just to come to her side. Aww.. N i like the fact that even though its supposed to be a sad drama on the whole, there were still subtle parts which always made me laugh like for eg. when the kids asked him to be a cow or dongbangshinki for the christmas celebration and they really danced to [The way you are]! XDD

Ok im really rushing for time now. Spent a long time this morning trying to wake kiwon오빠 up and keeping him from falling back to sleep. And instead of being an English teacher, now im his chinese teacher too. Lol. I suddenly think its so much easier to wake huiye up. Ha yeah i have a part time job of waking people up cos i have a real good biological clock so much so that i dun even use an alarm every morning. Haha.

Assignments!
